Three Musketeers

I (Spencer) just finished reading The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. I'm not a big reader, especially fiction, but this book was great. Rachel had watched the Disney version of this story when she was younger but I had never seen it. Having just finished the book I was curious to see how closely the movie followed the book. Hmmm....what can I say...well I really should have had lower expectations, considering it was a Disney version starring Chris O'Donnell as the lead character d'Artagnan. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it much more if I had never read the book. Despite the horrible casting choice for the lead character, I actually thought the choices for the three musketeers were pretty close to what I feel their characters were like in the book. Kudos to Kieffer, Charlie, and Oliver. Also, even though the Cardinal's character in the movie is vastly different from the character in the book, I did enjoy Tim Curry. After the movie ended I was feeling pretty disappointed, but as the credits began to roll I felt my heart begin to lift as I heard the opening chords to one of the greatest Junior High School dance songs of all time! My joy can now be yours. Enjoy!
